Philippines own Loboc Children’s Choir wowed Holland

Filipinos and foreigners alike were treated to the heavenly voices of the Loboc Children’s Choir in The Netherlands for three nights in a row. They performed in Hoofddorp on Wednesday evening, The Hague on Thursday and Venlo on Friday. The 22-song repertoire is part of a series of fund-raising concerts which will culminate in Spain where they are to take part in the Certamen Coral de Tolosa competition from October 29 to November 1.

The Loboc Children’s Choir first performed in The Netherlands in 2003 during their First International Concert Tour. It is in the same year that they bagged the first prize at the 6th International Folksongs Festival in Barcelona, Spain.

Choir conductor Alma Fernando-Taido attributes the winning streak of the singing group to motivation and good old discipline.

The concert in The Hague is part of the three-night performance in The Netherlands. After which, the choir will head off to Toulouse, France before competing in Spain. #
